The Theatre is Dead. Long Live the Theatre.

Julia - The Show debuted at Canal Café Theatre last night and it was solid proof that sometimes taking risks pays big time.

An experiment took place last night at the award-winning Canal Café Theatre in Little Venice. The theory to be proved was: "Is it possible to take web-series material, put it on a stage and still be entertaining ?". A completely sold out venue seemed to scream yes, at least judging by the volume of the thundering ovation at the end. The audience did not mind participating on a different turf, and while the cast showed great versatility, proving to be equally valid on both screen and stage, the script and the mise-en-scène proved that the humour, the wittiness and the general concept behind this product have chameleonic properties that can withstand whatever you throw at it, no matter in which form it presents itself.
